Edit an existing Information Display

How to Edit an existing Information Display.

  1. Open Information Displays.
      
  2. Find the display by name, layout or assigned devices.
  3. Select Edit.

Update the display

You can change:

  • Name.
  • Directly assigned Devices.
  • Duration (seconds).
  • Layout.
  • Token values or data paths detected from the selected layout.
  • Wayfinder Destinations for direction indexes.

 The project is fixed for an existing display. Use the preview to check the selected layout and supplied values. 

Save the changes

Select Update. Beacon validates the display, confirms the update and returns to the Information Displays list. Select Cancel to leave without saving.

Beacon warns before leaving with unsaved changes. 

What happens after an update?

Beacon rebuilds the player message content, records the activity, invalidates caches for affected devices and broadcasts a feed_messages update so connected players can refresh.

Direct device assignments submitted with the form replace the previous set. Playlist membership is managed separately from the Playlists pages. If you changed the layout or duration, every playlist using this Information Display will use the updated display; a playlist item's duration override still takes precedence over the display's default duration.
