Overlays

Overlays are groups of "media" items that can play on top of a player's playlist.

You select a default overlay for each player in the playlist. This will be shown over the player content until a player on a playlist row tells it to stop or change.

First, you must turn on the overlay controls in Group Settings:

This will show the overlay controls in the Playlist screen:

Next, create and edit the overlays for the group's players by pressing the button below the # sign in the left-hand column. This will open Overlays Editor for the players in the current group.

Once you have created your overlays, you can select a default one for each player using the drop-down at the top of the player's column. This overlay will apply to that player on until changed.

The options are:

  • Continue
Select this to continue using the existing default overlay for this player.
  •  No Overlay
Select this to set the default to not display an overlay.
  •  Overlay Name
Subsequent items are the overlays you created. Select one to show that overlay over the player.

You can set an overlay for a player on each row and apply that to the current row only, or change the default overlay so that subsequent rows use the new default until it is changed again.

Click the overlay text at the top a player in a row. This will display the following popup:

The drop-down box has the same options are the playlist defaults described above i.e. Continue, No Overlay and Overlay Name. Select one for the player on this row.

Select the "This row only" check-box to only use the overlay on this row. The player in the next row will then use whatever the default playlist overlay is currently set to. The arrow will be shown in the playlist to indicate this row only.

If you don't select "This row only" the playlist default overlay will be changed to your selection. Subsequent rows use this new overlay.
