# Buildings
## This page allows you to create and configure your 3D map files. You can create buildings, and upload map files for each floor.
#### **Creating buildings**
Buildings in wayfinder are maps that can have multiple floors. This is useful if you have several complex buildings that have different floors and would be confusing to show to users at the same time. The short name is what will appear in the floorchanger. For example "Building A" should have a shortname of "A" or "Bld. A".
**NOTE:** You should create buildings in the order that you want them to appear in the floorchanger.
#### **Creating floors**
Once you have created all your buildings, we next create the floors in the same way. Floors appear in height order so the highest floors should be at the top of the lists. e.g. 5,4,3,2,1,0
Clicking on the kebab menu button will allow you to upload your 3D model files.
#### **Map Files**
The ZIP must include an object (.obj) file , a material (.mtl) file and, optionally, any PNG texture file(s).
#### **Labels**
A JSON file containing the label definitions that will be applied to the meshes in your map layout.
