Allows you to schedule adverts

Background Respond 
Background Respond can be used to achieve a heightened customer experience.

It works by responding to a set of predefined rules to dynamically change the background image or colour automatically.

Barcode Reader           
This page app monitors a barcode reader device input. It can monitor RS232 (serial COM port) and USB (keyboard/COM port emulation) reader devices. Read barcodes are saved to an Acquire Variable. Actions can be performed when the barcode is scanned such as setting an Acquire Variable, jumping to another Acquire Page (must be located on the same page) to navigate to a URL.

Bluetooth
Incorporating Bluetooth into your digital signage project can be an effective way of communicating with consumers and transferring data. There are 3 parts to this app that can be configured separately.

• Bluetooth pagea pp – control content displayed on the screens when Bluetooth is in operation.
• Bluetooth projectapp – control the overall operation of the app, how it detects and communicates with Bluetooth enabled devices.
• Bluetooth Statistics – generates statics from activities recorded by the above apps.

Uses: Exchange maps, documents and product brochures with consumers by connecting with any Bluetooth enabled devices.

Button List
This page app converts records from various sources into a into a list of buttons. When the buttons aren’t all visible in the app area the list is scrollable and gesture controlled (for touch screens). Records can be obtained from the sections of an XML file or from a table in a MySQL database. The app will contain one button for each record found. A button contains all the record’s fields. These fields can be drawn on the button and used to set Acquire variables when the button is clicked.

Button 
With any interactive project, there is a frequent need for a button, especially when you want to allow the end-user to search through a directory, click to the next page, search through a catalogue or complete a multiple-choice questionnaire. Instead of having to draw, define, configure and programme individual buttons every time your project requires one, the Button app allows you to simply insert a button and apply different settings to it so that it looks and works exactly how you want it to

Calendar
Easily add a calendar into your project that does not require any design or formatting. The calendar is displayed in a monthly format and can be completely customised in appearance, by date and format. The calendar can also be used as a date selector allowing users to select a date from the calendar as opposed to having to type it in manually.

Code IT            
Comprised of 3 parts the Code It app allows you to write VBScript or Jscript code across your project creating unique features for your interactive project. A script that you have created can run along-side your overall project and doesn’t interfere with individual pages allowing scripts to run continuously.
There are 3 parts to this app that can be configured separately

• Code It Page app– script code can run inside a page
• Code It Project app – script code can run alongside a project
• Code It Editor –allows you to edit code, VBScript or Jscript code to interact with the player program.

Coin Collect
Part of the Payment Processing App Pack, this page app interacts with a “cash mechanism” (e.g. coin validator hardware), to detect and record which coins have been inserted by the user. It performs actions in your project depending on its configuration the cash levels of the mechanism. The cash mechanism is controlled by the Watchdog/Sentinal CashMech app and this app requires that app to be installed. Please refer to the Watchdog/Sentinal CashMech app manual for details on how to configure your cash mechanism.

Copy Files
This plug-in allows you to copy files from the project’s media folder to another location.

Data Table Update
With the Data Table app data tables used in your digital signage project are easy to create and maintain. If you have data-bases on your digital project, like a train timetable that needs constantly updating, this is a really simple way of updating on-screen tables. Define how it appears and what it looks like and update content through any XML file for ease and efficiency. Once a change has been made to the XML file the data in the table is automatically updated without having to manually edit the on-screen content. The XML file can be accessed and edited by any number of personnel.

Database Update
The Database app allows you to update content on your screens contained within a database. For example, if you have a map with shops located on the map, instead of changing the entire artwork simply update the database that the content is connected to and the changes will be made automatically.

Directory Builder
"Directory Builder enables the easy creation of an interactive, animated directory so that your customers can easily find and locate products, points of interest, services or offices in an office block. Descriptions and other details of individual people, products or places can also be added along with promotional messages and offers. It can optionally work with Google Maps so that destinations can also be located and printed if required. There is also an integral editor feature so that directories can be built to fully reflect your company’s identity.
The directory is defined in a special xml file. Directory files can be created directly (see Appendix I) or with the Directory Editor which is included in this app.
The Directory Builder comes in 2 parts:

• Directory Builderpage app – allows you to add a directory to a specific page within yourproject.
• Directory Builder Editor – allows you to create and edit directories.

DVD
Allows the playback of DVDs on a specified page within your project. Playback can be controlled by setting actions such as play and fast-forward.

Easy Queue
The Easy Queue app allows you to develop a queuing system where tickets are generated by typing numbers on the keypad which are then displayed on nearby screens.
The app is comprised of 2 parts:

• Easy Queue page app – displays a list of tickets on a specific page within your project. Usethe page app to define the appearance of the numbers appearing on the screen.
• Easy Queue project app – monitors keystrokes for typed in ticket numbers and displays them onscreen.

Elavon Payments
This app enables customers to make payments on line by filling in their card details at the kiosk. The app requests credit card payments through Elavon’s Virtual Merchant and sends card data, as provided by the card holder, via the internet to the Virtual Merchant. The Virtual Merchant will then accept or decline the request. The app will also save transaction results which can be viewed on screen or printed by the user.

Email
The Email app is a clever addition for any interactive display or kiosk allowing customers to register for a newsletter, submit feedback or make payments for items online. Emails can be sent from a kiosk or screens directly to individuals or members of staff to record customer registrations or action a task. Emails can be sent to multiple email addresses with up to 5 attachments and Acquire will also execute specific actions once the email has been sent, for example display a ‘thank you’ message or jump to another page.

Event Manager
This is an interactive diary booking system that automatically adds events, appointments and bookings to calendars when they have been made from a kiosk or screen. This is particularly useful for large office blocks or hotels where meetings or reservations can be made by the customers quickly and efficiently, with limited intervention from staff.
The app is comprised of 2 parts:

• Event Manager page app – configure the app to work on a page within your project.
• Event Manager project app – configure the app to run across your project.

Excel
This page app allows you to display Excel spreadsheets in your projects.
The app can only display CSV or XLSX files (Excel 2007 and up).

Facebook
If your company has a Facebook page this app will allow you to show live posts and updates being made to a Facebook timeline. Digital Signage projects can even be controlled by posting special commands to a Facebook timeline. This is achieved by defining special command words found within posts which will trigger specific actions, such as jumping to a specified page or playing a specific piece of media.

Feed Creator
Generates an RSS feed for your project or parts of your project. This means that any RSS feed reading device can be pointed to this RSS feed to retrieve and display your project on that device. This is useful when you wish to demo project and campaigns to potential customers but do not wish to pay for an extra player licence when you don’t need one.

Feedback
Feedback is a useful app for obtaining feedback, views and comments from your customers. With the app you can specify an area or space into which text can be applied by your customer and is particularly useful when creating feedback surveys, registration forms or creating comment boxes. Both the appearance and style of this area are completely customisable and messaging can also be included to prompt the customer. Information entered into this ‘feedback area’ can be used on other pages, for example if a page in your playlist said ‘See what our customer are saying about us’ Acquire can retrieve comments supplied on the customer feedback forms and automatically display selected comments.

Flow Chart
Shows your entire project as a flow chart showing how your pages are linked together. This is particularly useful when creating interactive projects as the app allows you to clearly see where pages navigate to when a particular action is carried out. It also allows you to check for any broken links or pages within a project that have broken links.

GPS
The GPS app can be used in a number of different ways but is more commonly used for location-specific advertising. If your screens are fitted with a GPS receiver then you can use the GPS app to detect location in order to show adverts that are relevant to that specific area, perhaps displaying adverts from businesses within a mile radius. This is particularly useful if screens are portable like the Taxi Signage or wearable digital screens. GPS tracks the area location of the screens and changes content on the screens accordingly, only showing adverts from local amenities within that area creating a truly targeted campaign.

Graphs             
This page app displays a line graph which is populated during the day. The graph is drawn based on data from an XML file. The output from the OLE DB page app is compatible with this page app. The graph will automatically update once per minute, and the history is maintained between page changes.

Hauppauge Win TV
Using a Freeview TV capture device, this app allows you to tune into a specific TV channel and display it in Acquire.

ID Tech 
This page app is designed to work with the magnetic stripe card reader made by IDTech.
You can define when the reader should read data from an inserted card (ie, on insert or removal). The magnetic stripe data is put it into Variables for use within your project.
You can jump to another page when the card is read, fails to read or when there is a reader error.

Keyboard
This page plug-in allows you to display an on-screen keyboard. It can be used with other plug-ins. You can choose from a variety of different keyboard layouts or you can design your own using the Keyboard Editor plug-in.

Magtek Reader
This page app is designed to work with Magtek magnetic stripe card readers.
You can define when the reader should read data from an inserted card (i.e.: on insert or removal). The magnetic stripe data is put it into Variables for use within your project.
You can jump to another page when the card is read, fails to read or when there is a reader error.

Master Volume            
If playing media such as video or audio files this app allows you to control, the master volume on a particular unit and controls the sounds on individual pages. On Vista and Windows 7 the app will only control the volume of the current application i.e. Acquire.
This page app allows you to control the master volume of the unit.
The app uses the special $$VoulumeUpDown variable. This is set with the volume every time it changes. You can set the app to adjust the volume when the page is first shown, using a specified value or the $$VoulumeUpDown variable that was set previously.

Media Player
This app allows you to play a video or other media within Acquire using Windows Media Player rather than Acquire’s internal video playing engine. Normally this functionality is not required but for some formats it works better and has the added advantage of maintaining the media aspect ratio when played. However, this is not the only powerful feature. The media player app allows you to control media using Acquire variables. You can tell it to play, stop rewind etc., as well as get a playback position and more. Using this app you can develop an interactive media player.

Media Retriever
This project app downloads media from the Internet to the projects media folder. You can:
Use an HTTP or FTP source. Set how frequently the media should be downloaded. Define where (within the Media Folder) to download to Delete media if it fails to download after a specific amount of time.

Media Slideshow
This app scans folders that contain media files. It maintains an internal list of all the files in those folders that match specified media types. For example, you might scan a Movie folder for all the .MP4 & .MOV files. The app sets an Acquire variable with the name of one of these files ready for use in your project. It will set the variable with the next image in its list when the project page changes and/or when a special control variable is set. This file list can be randomized or sorted. This will determine the order in which the files will be set to the variable. The variable can then be used to show or play a different piece of media on the page (using of the built-in media tool or a page plug-in etc.) when the page changes or when a page item is clicked.

Media Streamer
Use this app to allow your Acquire pages to safely stream and display live audio, video and website feeds from the Internet including handling drop-outs or buffering of data.

Motion Trigger
Create unique and engaging experiences for your customers by having your project respond to motion. Motion is detected via a web cam triggering specific actions when people are in close proximity to the display. There are various actions that can be assigned to these triggers such as, jump to page, save a snapshot to disk or upload a snapshot to an FTP server. The results of which can even help calculate ROI and capture valuable data about typical gender and age of customers who view the screens so messaging can be better optimised for target audiences.

Music
Add ambient background music to your digital signage project for an enhanced user experience. Music is managed using the integral music playlist editor and can be set to accompany 1 page, a range of pages or accompany an entire project.
The Music app is comprised of 3 parts:

• The Page App uses controls the Project App to keep the music playing.
• The Project App plays the Music Scripts generated by the Editor App. It is controlled by the Page App.
• The Editor App allows you to create music playlists

Nemo Q
For store, bank queuing systems, either by taking a ticket or call forwarding.

PDF Viewer
If you already have files saved as PDFs and do not wish to recreate the content on your project pages you can use the PDF viewer app to include and successfully display PDFs within your digital project.
Note: Acrobat Reader v9.4 or higher must be installed on your player PC.

Photo
Using a camera connected to your player computer this app allows photos to be taken, previewed and displayed onto your digital screens. Photos can be transformed by overlaying images and background templates creating a novelty keep sake.

Pop-Up
This Page App displays an image and/or text in a popup screen that sits on top the current project window. You can use it to display alerts etc.
It is opened and closed when an Acquire Variable is set to a specified value. It can also be closed on a user click or after a number of seconds.

Power Manager           
If you have screens located in office blocks, buildings or reception areas that may only be viewed during the day, you may wish to power down your machines overnight and turn them back on again in the morning. However, this can be difficult if you manage machines and players from a central location. Instead of doing this manually Power Manager enables you to specify power on and off times saving power and increasing the longevity of the machines.

PowerPoint Viewer
If you already have an effective PowerPoint presentation that you would like to include on your digital display and you do not wish to recreate it the PowerPoint Viewer app allows you to include existing PowerPoint files. You can select specific slides or an entire presentation to be displayed and actions can also be pre-set so that once the presentation finishes other pages within your campaign load seamlessly for uninterrupted playback. This App require Version 9.4 or above.

Print It
Print It app is quite simply an App that allows users to print information directly from the screen or kiosk. The integral editor feature will let you change and set the appearance of this app as it appears on the screen so that it is in keeping with your project or brand identity.
This page app prints out data on a page. The layout of the page is defined in PLF template files (an XML file with specific tags).
These templates can contain variables meaning they can contain dynamic information and images. Template can be created using the Template Editor page app or directly (see Appendices).
There are 2 parts to this app that can be configured separately.

• Print it page app– Add the print control app to a page within a project.
• Print it Editor –configure the print it app to operate on a page.

Program Loader           
This page app allows users to load an application when an Acquire page is shown. Once the application closes Acquire will move to the next page. Optionally the application can also be terminated when the page closes. This will also launch the associated application for files. For example, if you had the PowerPoint viewer installed then choosing a PowerPoint file will cause the viewer to be launched full screen.

Progress Bar
This page app provides visual feedback about progress that is occurring.
A progress value is represented by showing a bar being revealed in increments on a background from left to right. You can select the bar and background colour or use your own images instead. The position of the bar is set from an Acquire Variable which is read every second.

QR Code Generator
Displaying QR Codes on your project are a great way of directing traffic to specific webpages. This app allows you to create your very own QR codes for inclusion in your project by turning alphanumeric data into unique QR Codes. QR codes can be included on adverts or other promotional messages so that users can scan QR codes with smart devices which will automatically redirect them to a specific webpage. The QR code can also be used to measure how many people are accessing a specific web page as a result of the digital display so that you can accurately calculate return on investment.

Quividi
The Quividi VidiReports audience measurement plugin allows for real-time changes to the playlist based on viewer statistics. See the Appendices for more information on the Quividi solution, including how to install and evaluate VidiReports. Once you have a licensed version of VidiReports running on your player you can configure this plugin to connect to it and utilize the audience measurements that it generates.
Acquire variables can be set containing the measurements.
Events can be triggered when certain conditions are met. For example, you might place media aimed at a certain gender/age on a page and jump to that page if the greater number of watchers are of that gender/age. Events can be triggered live or at the end of a “study period.

• Data can belogged to standard Acquire log files.

Data can be uploaded to Quividi's on-line reporting service, VidiCenter

Remote Control           
Remote Control gives you a level of operational control over the player even when you are away from your machine. It works by regularly downloading and processing an instruction script so that you can jump to a different page within the project, place a message on the logs or quit the page. It can be remotely controlled through a website.

RSS Feed
Use the RSS Feed app to show real-time RSS Feed updates from external sites. It works by downloading data from MRSS, RSS 2.0 RSS 1.9 and ATOM feeds to use in your Acquire projects. The app will automatically cache feed data for use in the event that an internet connection is lost, preventing blank spaces appearing on screen. Feed content can also be filtered by keywords ensuring that feeds displayed are relevant to your on-screen project

Samsung Control
The app allows you to control a compatible Samsung connected to the system.
Uses: Typically, this app is used when the MagicInfo software has been replaced by Acquire. An automated install script can be provided for this purpose should it be required. Contact your reseller for more information. There are three DLL files which should be located within the system as part of the Samsung install that are used by this app. If these are missing, then this app will not operate. The DLL files are called MDCComApi.dll, MDCCommApi.dll and MDCSerial.dll

Screen Frame
The Screen Frame App allows you to display a regularly updated frame (snapshot) of another PC’s screen within an Acquire Page.
The app is comprised of two parts:

• Frame Server –this is the FrameServer.exe application which is run on a PC from which youwish to obtain frames. It captures frames and sends them to the Frame Clients.(This can also be used separately to record and save frames to disk at regularintervals. Please contact customersales@acquiredigital.com to obtain your copy.
• Frame Client – This is the FrameClient.acq or page app, which connects to the Frame Server to retrieve and display frames

Screen Sleep
This page app allows you to save power by switching off the display attached to the computer. The app can be configured to switch the display back on at a specific time.
This app is normally placed in a playlist and scheduled to play at the time you want the screen to switch off for. At the same time the rest of the playlist is scheduled to not play during this time meaning this is triggered instantly.

Scroll Bar
This page plug-in displays an interactive scroll bar. Its position can be saved to an Acquire Variable for use elsewhere in your project.
The scroll bar can be drawn vertical or horizontal and it can be drawn in your own colours or with your own images.

Scroller
This page plug-in allows the user to select an item from a scrollable list.
The list can be scrolled (if necessary) by dragging the list or using a scrollbar.
The selected item’s index number, displayed text or associated data can be saved to an Acquire Variable for use within other plug-ins or pages.

Send IT
This project plug-in allows Acquire to upload images to a server.
An image folder is monitored and any new files are uploaded together with a thumbnail.
The thumbnail file name is the original name (e.g. pic1.jpg) with “_tn” appended (e.g. pic1_tn.jpg).

Serial Trigger
This page plug-in allows you to communicate with any device that is attached to your player computer and identified via a COM port.

Shape
The Shape app allows you to drop shapes onto your pages. Uses. Shapes can be used to zone content easily to make a more engaging digital signage project.

Slide Show
To maximise engagement with your target audience it is important to create page designs in provocative formats. Zoning content allows you to mix adverts with informative content, data feeds and other relevant information. Uses. Use this app to point to a folder full of media. The app will automatically play the content, switching between media using slow fades, panning and zooming. The duration that media is displayed can be set and scaled to fit. The Slide Show Advanced app gives you more control over the playback of content and cleverly enables actions that can be pre-set for advanced control.

Slide Show Advanced
To maximise engagement with your target audience it is important to create pages in provocative and engaging formats. Zoning content allows you to mix adverts with informative content, data feeds and other relevant information. This app enables you to show a sequence of media slides on a page within an Acquire project without the page having to change or reload.

Subtitle             
This page plug-in displays subtitles at specified times starting from when a page is first displayed.
Subtitles can be shown on multiple lines and have different text styles. An editor lets you create new subtitle files and place subtitles at desired positions in a video.

Text
The Text Box app allows you to add text to your pages within your digital signage project. Since it is a commonly used app it comes as standard with any Acquire package.

Text Animate
The Text Animate app allows you to animate text and RSS feeds that appear on your project pages. Instead of including text that simply scrolls across the screen, this app enables you to create dynamic ways of animating text for maximum impact. There are a number of different style configurations from vertical or horizontal scrolling and images that appear behind the text can also be changed as well as the background colour. Use in combination with the RSS Feed app to retrieve and animate RRS file sources.

Text Save
This page plug-in allows you to select a range of Acquire variables to be logged into the Acquire log file. These special log entries will then be collected by the PLUS! Network reporting server and converted into a CSV file. These files can then be downloaded from the Reporting Server website.

Timed Trigger
The Timed Trigger app enables you to schedule content at specific dates and times. The app will automatically display scheduled messages and content at specified times interrupting the running playlist and will resume playback of the playlist once the content has been shown. This is particularly useful for events and occasions such as Remembrance and Lunch Time.

Trigger
The Trigger app introduces a new dimension into retail with the ability to create a truly immersive shopping experience. This is one of our more recently developed apps designed to bring a new and innovative twist to the standard point of sale (POS) or point of purchase (POP) displays. The app’s function is to trigger a near-by display playing particular content when an item is lifted off the shelf or clothes rail. It works by monitoring serial ports that are connected to the clothes rail or shelf. When the weight changes the serial ports change triggering the screens.

Tube Updates
Retrieve and display live status updates from the London Underground streamed directly to your screens. Supplied by the Transport for London free Transport Data Service updates are automatically displayed on digital displays and have been successfully used in reception areas, office blocks and hotel lobbies.

Twitter
If your company has a Twitter profile this App will retrieve and display twitter feeds connected to that profile. The app will regularly check for new feeds and publish them live (as and when they are ‘tweeted’) or update them at regular intervals. The app also includes advanced functionality like being able to control the system through special commands that are ‘tweeted’, such as jumping to a page or playing a specific media files. The app can also follow and publish a unique hashtag rather than a profile so that updates can me made simply by including the hashtag within a comment. You can also prevent post that that may include obscenities or indecent content from being published.

Upload Videos
The Video Bundle app contains 5 different video functions to successfully capture, record and upload video files captured through a connected webcam or video recorder. The bundle also includes a file manager so that files are stored and managed within the Acquire Log files and a video playback manager. This is a comprehensive app that provides complete control over the video media files allowing you to make adjustments and change settings to the brightness, hue, contrast and saturation and audio levels. We have also developed a unique video clipping tool to provide a level of editing. Videos can be clipped so that specified sections of videos are played back. With advanced functionality, the app can also perform intelligent actions such as jumping to another page, or quitting a page once the video as finished playing providing you with complete control of video content.

Video Wall Editor         
Allows you to build a canvas of screens to create a video wall effect. Create immersive video walls on a truly impressive scale. Choose between laying screen out in a traditional or abstract scattered canvas format. Achieve full HD and accurate screen synchronisation.

Volume Control
When playing audio from a ‘line in’ source such as a radio or microphone this app provides full control of the volume settings for the duration of the page on which the audio has been included. When pages are first loaded, the volume can be set to fade in reaching the volume level specified. Settings for individual speakers can be adjusted individually.

Wayfinder Map            
Allows the user to build a simple floor wayfinder using variables and static images.

Weather
Powered by
AccuWeather.com this app enables you to include reliable, accurate weather
updates for your local area. The app does require you to have a subscription
with Accu Weather, details of which will be stored in Acquire. The app can also
be programmed to determine how frequently the weather updates refresh and the
appearance of the weather feeds and how they are displayed can also be
specified.

Web Address
This app is an integrated URL Input Box (address bar) and Web Search Box. You can then:

• Enter URLs to navigate around the internet.

   

  Enter a search term. This uses Google Search.

Web Advert
This page app allows you to display adverts depending on the content of the current web page being viewed in the CyberBrowser page app. An advert shows a selected media file and you can make CyberBrowser jump to another page when the advert is clicked.
Tip: If there are multiple Cyber Browser apps on the page the Web Advert app will only communicate with the first one it finds.

Web Busy
This page app displays media.

Web Button
This page app is a button which connects to and controls.

Web Payment
This page plug-in allows a website with permissions to take a card payment via the browser. The plug-in is designed to fully support chip and pin making this ideal for specific kiosk applications. It also has support for printing to a receipt printer. The plug-in communicates with the SmartSwitch payment gateway to perform all of the card transactions.

YesPay
This Acquire page app allows you to create an Electronic Point of Sale project, to take payment from a pin pad card reader, using the YESpay system. It connects to the YESpay EasyVTerminal software which interfaces with an attached card reader.
Payment can be requested when a project page is entered or when requested from a website using the CyberBrowser page app. You can show an image while the user follows the instructions on the card reader. Actions can be performed on Events. E.g. Set Acquire Variables, jump to a page etc. on a successful or failed transaction or on an error. Fully configurable, itemized receipts can be printed.
